JOB READINESS
GOAL
The Dream Streets Job Readiness Program is a non-traditional learning and skill training opportunity for justice-involved individuals who are either underemployed or unemployed due to their history.
OVERVIEW
The 2024-2025 Program Cohorts will begin on August 6, 2024 and January 7, 2025. Participants will get valuable soft skill lessons, group counseling, job preparedness training and an opportunity to meet firsthand with various industry professionals.
Cohorts will consist of the following:
a) Eight weeks of Job Readiness and soft skill classes, occurring once weekly on Tuesdays
b) Six weeks of Industry Exposure + Site Visits to industry partner locations
c) Industry placement for entry level internship or work experience
Completion celebrations will take place on December 17, 2024 and May 27, 2025
Industry partners include:
1. Catering and Special Events
2. CDL Training
3. Basic Computer Skills and Information Technology
4. Manufacturing
5. Food and Bulk Meal Preparation
Program participants will have priority status for tenancy in our Transitional Housing Facility. Anyone enrolled in the Job Readiness Program who remains in good standing will not be required to pay rent for six months.
Applications available for the August cohort will be available through July 16.
Preference will be given to males living in the North Nashville area.
